Young, hot stars within the emission nebula illuminate the surrounding gas, creating a hollowed-out cavity and dramatic pillar shapes. Presented in three color palettes, offering a variety of contrasting details. Here, the narrowband filters for Sulfur, Hydrogen, and Oxygen have been blended using color accurate wavelength assignments, for a “Realistic” color palette.
